The MSH program is private pay and is designed to focus on assisting and encouraging our adult residents to develop to their full potential. Community integration and community partnerships are an integral part of our program.

Community Life

Offer enhance community life and provide social opportunities. Small peer group activities may take place on or away from MSH campus, and participation is voluntary but strongly encouraged. Types of activities may include group meals, peer discussion groups, special interest groups and Clubs, sports and games, arts and crafts, or other physical or social recreation.

Southern Wesleyan University (SWU), our program partner and neighbor, offers MSH residents a variety of amenities. Through SWU, our residents have access to on-campus dining, sporting events, sports courts, a driving range, volunteer and paid employment opportunities, and even the possibility of auditing classes just to name a few. The MSH property sits adjacent to SWU’s campus, creating easy opportunities for residents to access and enjoy.

Mary Sunshine House (MSH) is located on the fare-free Clemson Area Transit (CAT) Bus system, providing access to the town of Central and surrounding areas. MSH Staff are available to assist residents in navigating public transportation.

There are restaurants and dining opportunities within walking distance of our campus, including the Southern Wesleyan University Dining Hall which provides a large variety of options both made-to-order and buffet-style meals.

Private Pay Specialized Living Community

Our team provides natural supports for residents to maintain independent living. Staff members plan and lead optional MSH sponsored activities and group outings. They also work to help residents maximize their use and understanding of community activities available at SWU and in surrounding areas. Activities Coordinators may also work with individual residents to assist with daily skills such as budgeting and finance, use of public transportation, time management, and healthy lifestyle management.
Mary Sunshine House provides essential oversight and monitoring of resident safety and wellbeing. Mentoring and monitoring to enhance health and wellness is available. MSH provides opportunities for residents to practice and maintain skills related to exercise, nutrition, self-care, hygiene, and emergency preparedness.

MSH coordinates newly renovated smoke-free apartments, located near the MSH Administrative Building. They are within walking distance of public transportation and shopping for residents.

The Education Learning Center, located in the MSH Administration Building, is sensory-friendly and hosts structured daily activities. This room is also open for drop-in use by residents during business hours and extended program hours (occasional nights and weekends). This space provides residents with access to community resources such as wireless internet, laptops, books and magazines, and games.

Program Fee: $250/quarter ($1,000 annually)
